What are the responsibilities and job description for the Valet Parking Attendant position at Great West Property Services?
To perform the Valet Associate job successfully, an individual must be professional and courteous, as they will be the warm welcome and fond farewell to all tenants and visitors to the property. This individual will have safety and loss prevention responsibilities. This position reports to the Property Manager and will accept direction from the Valet Manager.
The following list of responsibilities for the Valet position should be viewed as the minimum expectation and not an exhaustive list. Job functions may be added or deleted from this job description as necessary, depending on the level of staffing at the property.
- Please note, this valet position does not collect tips.
- Required Hours: 30 Hours Per Week, 6 Hour Shifts (Monday-Friday)
- Starting pay is $19 an hour and qualify for$22.50 after 30 days based on performance
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must attend all training seminars and classes when called upon.
- Must attend all meetings required by property and corporate office
- Must have a working knowledge of valet operations.
- Must wear designated uniform and follow dress code instructions while working shift and on property premise.
- Must adhere to associate-parking restrictions.
- Must adhere to departmental phone answering script.
- Must adhere to associate posting and rotation procedures.
- Must observe tip procedures.
- Must inform corporate office of driver’s license status at all times.
- Must perform at a high level in aggressive hospitality at all times.
- Will ensure the traffic flow on the driveway is safe and efficient.
- Will be aware of all unattended vehicles.
- Will ensure all unattended vehicles on the driveway be movable if emergency arises.
- Will be the secondary issuer of valet parking tickets to the guests.
- Must participate in customer name recognition program.
- Must observe vehicle call-down procedures.
- Must observe luxury vehicle procedures.
- Must observe oversize vehicle procedures.
- Must observe handicap vehicle procedures.
- Must introduce upset customer to manager or supervisor in a professional manner.
- Must observe seemingly intoxicated customer procedures.
- Must observe prohibition of removing customer vehicle from property procedures.
- Must observe procedures of securing customer valuables in vehicle.
- Must perform a vehicle pre-existing damage inspection.
- Must assist in lot checks by being observant for potential problems in the parking area.
- Must be alert for parking hazards and make adjustments in parking the vehicle accordingly.
- Must report all incidents and accidents no matter how minor to a manager or supervisor.
- Must report all personal injuries suffered while working to a manager or supervisor.
- Must introduce a customer who has lost their claim check to the manager or supervisor.
- Must complete parking tickets as instructed by management.
- Must secure each vehicle parked unless otherwise instructed by management.
- Individual will remain in proper post position when not moving a vehicle or cleaning the drive.
- Individual will be attentive to all customers and coworkers.
- Individual will perform in a professional manner at all times.
- Individual will observe all safety rules and regulations.
- A full working knowledge of the Great West Property Services Policies and Procedures Manual is required in order to ensure compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to provide legible communications.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Familiarity of property operations and surroundings.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission.
- High school graduate or equivalent
SKILLS:
- Ability to smile, acknowledge, greet and extend a courteous welcome to each and every customer.
- Ability to enhance the well being of each customer to ensure a positive memorable parking experience.
- Ability to provide high levels of customer service and demands the same from all associates.
- Ability to maintain high standard of cleanliness of work area, personal appearance, organization, etc. and demand the same from associates.
- Previous valet parking or professional driver experience.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite, ticketless digital valet software, key storage software, and any other software required for operations and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to drive standard shift
- Ability to sprint short distances
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 6 or 8 hours, less break)
- Ability to withstand extreme temperatures
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (signs, etc.)
