Great Western Trailer (GWT) is immediately hiring Mobile Technicians for a Night Shift position in a Yard Environment at our Dearborn, MI location.
As a Mobile Technician, you will perform maintenance and repairs on semi-trailers, working from a mobile truck within our yard environment. If you’re motivated, eager to grow, and have a passion for trailer repair and maintenance, we want you to be part of our team.
Shift Hours : Monday to Friday, 12 : 00 AM (midnight) to 7 : 00 AM
Location : Yard Environment in Dearborn, MI, with work performed in the yard and mobile service truck.

Inspect and Repair :
Perform maintenance and repairs on air brake systems, electrical systems, and other trailer components.Inspect and fix damage to the trailer body, chassis, doors, floors, and more.Handle minor mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assemblies including lift gates.Conduct basic and advanced repairs like welding, cutting, and fabrication.Install or Replace :
Add-on components such as toolboxes, ramp kits, dunnage racks, and winches.Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks as needed.Quality Check and Reporting :
Prepare service reports and other necessary documentation.Examine work for defects to ensure high-quality repairs.Follow troubleshooting procedures to deliver quality work according to specifications.Communicate concerns and assist others when needed.Demonstrate Safety at All Times :
Follow safety standards, company policies, and regulations.Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment.Required Qualifications :
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Own a personal set of hand tools.Broad knowledge of semi-trailer equipment, tools, and systems.Ability to use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and welding equipment.Ability to work overtime as needed.Preferred Qualifications :
Minimum 3 years of experience in semi-trailer repairs.ASE or other industry-recognized certifications (welding certification a plus).Bilingual Spanish a plus.Physical Demands :
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and bending.Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.Must operate equipment like forklifts, hand tools, welding equipment, and refrigerated trailers.Specific vision abilities including close, distance, and color vision, with the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment :
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, chemicals, fumes, and extreme temperatures.Regular exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.Risk of electrical shock.Work may be performed in shops, yards, or in mobile service vehicles.About Great Western Trailer (GWT) :
