What You’ll Be Doing
As a Semi-Trailer Technician, you will:
- Inspect and repair semi-trailers, including brakes, wiring, bodywork, lift gates, and more.
- Install and replace add-on components like toolboxes, winches, and ramp kits.
- Perform fabrication and welding as needed.
- Ensure quality and safety, completing service reports and maintaining high standards.
What You Need to Succeed
Required Qualifications:
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Own a personal set of hand tools – essential for the job.
- Strong mechanical aptitude – experience with semi-trailer equipment, tools, and maintenance.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools safely and efficiently.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed by the business.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CDL License – a plus, but not required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 3 years of experience in semi-trailer repairs.
- Industry certifications such as ASE or welding certification.
- Bilingual (Spanish) – a valuable asset.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in a dynamic shop, yard, or mobile service environment.
- Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
