Position: Part-Time Graphic Designer
Reports To: Director, Marketing and Communications
Status: Part-Time (Up to 25 hours a week)
Scope of Position
The Greater Akron Chamber (GAC) is seeking a talented and creative Part-Time Graphic Designer to join our team. This role supports the mission of the GAC by creating engaging visual assets that align with the organization’s events, programs, and key initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in graphic design and will have the capacity to dedicate at least 20 hours a week to this work.
Essential Functions
- Design and create high-quality graphics for digital and print materials, including invitations, retractable banners, step-and-repeats, table signs, event programs, invitations, PowerPoint presentations, and other event collateral as needed.
- Create social media graphics to raise awareness of GAC events, initiatives, and other programs.
- Collaborate with the events and marketing teams to conceptualize and execute visually appealing designs that represent the brand of the organization and its various programs and partners.
- Stay up to date on design trends to bring fresh ideas to projects
- Prepare print-ready and web-optimized files for distribution and work with vendors, as needed, on the production of the printed pieces.
- Support the organization on other design projects, as needed.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative and professional design work.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow branding guidelines.
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at once.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Previous experience in graphic design (experience with nonprofits or community organizations a plus).
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be available for at least 20 hours each week (no more than 25).
- Must be available during standard business hours in EST
- Being able to attend the Tuesday staff meetings from 12:00-2:00pm is a plus (attending virtually is acceptable)
