Job Summary

• The Security Officer will patrol the campus grounds to ensure students, staff, faculty, and visitors are in a safe, welcoming environment. While on patrol throughout the campus property, the Security Officer will examine all doors, windows, gates, and points of entry for proper working function and report any safety issues observed, including taking action to remove anyone engaging in damaging property or participating in dangerous or illegal acts. Additionally, call for law enforcement when necessary to provide support to the grounds team when called upon.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Patrol the perimeter and grounds of the Greater Atlanta Christian School at regular intervals.
• Watch for suspicious activity.
• Monitor and control gate or door access for vehicles, students, employees, and visitors.
• Check to make sure windows and doors are secure.
• Exhibit a strong physical and authoritative presence that will help deter criminal activity.
• Recognize potentially dangerous situations and respond in the safest and most effective manner.
• Capture and detain perpetrators and alert law enforcement if further action is necessary.
• Sound alarms or call for outside assistance when needed in emergencies.
• Follow all state and company-enforced safety laws and regulations.
• Show a professional appearance with your attire, grooming, and verbal interactions at all times.
  
  

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Law Enforcement, Military, or Certified Security.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, & Capabilities

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Write,maintain, and present detailed reports, noting any damages, theft, or other irregular activity.
• Ability to provide sound judgment and confidentiality in handling of sensitive information
• Attention to detail and organization
• Alertness and Observation
