As an integral member of the Greater Austin YMCA, the Youth and Family Coordinator plays a pivotal role in realizing our mission to empower youth and strengthen families within our community. Under the guidance of the Youth and Family Director, this position serves as a cornerstone in ensuring the seamless execution of daily operations within the department. With a primary focus on enhancing member satisfaction, the Coordinator oversees and supports the Youth and Family staff, leading by example to foster a culture of excellence and dedication. The Coordinator actively contributes to the development and implementation of program activities in close partnership with the Director. This collaborative approach ensures that our programming remains innovative, impactful, and responsive to the needs of our members. By nurturing a dynamic and supportive environment, they inspire their team to deliver services that uphold our mission, promoting youth development and family well-being at every turn. We are looking for a candidate that is available to work on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 8:00 AM 12:00 PM.

- Leads by example and supports staff in carrying out supervisory responsibilities, including aiding in recruiting, training, and developing part-time program staff and volunteers.
- Assist in overseeing current Youth and Family programs and the creation of new programs, including establishing operating standards, curriculum, and program objectives.
- Assist with direct marketing and promotion of programs and Kids Play to ensure achievement of established objectives.
- Assist in organizing and staffing summer Mini-Camps, including curriculum creation and management.
- Assist in developing potential community relationships to increase Kids' Play and Co-play participation.
- Ensure the quality of existing programs and participant satisfaction and attract new members and program participants.
- Work with the Director to monitor the program budget to meet and/or exceed fiscal objectives.
- Assist the leadership team in delivering high-quality family events.
- Provide exceptional customer service to members and guests and respond to inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Know and follow the Greater Austin YMCA People Guidelines, Code of Ethics, payroll procedures, and established emergency procedures.
- Facilitates a programming environment that invites exploration, promotes positive play, and welcomes children.
- Participates in fundraising events and activities at the center, including seeking donations for important YMCA financial development initiatives like the Annual Campaign.
- Participate as a proactive team player and collaborate cross-functionally with multiple departments and people teams.
- Lead by example the Y's mission, vision, and character values with program participants, members, staff, and guests.
- You bring a mix of education, training, and hands-on experience with children. A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- You excel in organizing engaging activities and memorable events.
- You have experience in programs like cooking classes or music learning is highly desirable.
