Minimum Qualifications:
- Attendance at an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or public administration or a closely related field; and 3 years of responsible experience in administrative and/or budgetary analysis, accounting, personnel and/or office management; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge of general/cost accounting and statistical principles; accounting theories and procedures; accounts payable; double-entry bookkeeping; financial reporting systems; budget preparation, monitoring, analysis, and revisions; appropriate business language and report-writing methods; computer spreadsheet, word processing applications; automated office equipment and state of the art software programs.
- Ability to maintain personnel records and documents; use automated office equipment and state-of-the-art software programs; obtain, analyze, evaluate, and draw logical conclusions from relevant data; read, understand, and apply legislation, regulations, and other instructions to ensure compliance with federal and state rules and regulations and grant/contract conditions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; develop and maintain effective working relationships; prepare appropriate business documents; self-start and work independently; and maintain confidential information.
- Must possess strong computer skills, including those necessary for a full range of administrative record-keeping as well as basic word-processing functions.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with all grantor reporting conditions and grant requirements.
- Provides technical support and direction to program managers to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations as well as grant or contract conditions. Works with program managers to ensure accurate reporting of program data to funders.
- Acts as a liaison with funding sources to resolve budget, financial, audit, or reporting issues.
- Identifies and presents financial issues to the Accounting Supervisor.
- Recommends appropriate action to strengthen and enhance the financial environment.
- Recordation of all grantor budgets and budget revisions into Sage 300.
- Track and monitor all grant deliverables; coordinate with other staff as needed for information to be assembled.
- Prepare and submit all claims (including supporting data) as required for funders; record transactions into Sage 300
- Assess payments made by funders for proper recording in Sage 300 (apply to AR, adjustments as necessary, etc.)
- Responsible for all communications with funders (and appropriate internal staff) for the scheduling of program and/or fiscal monitoring visits, as well as coordinating the submission of the requested documentation.
- Acts as a liaison with funding sources in resolving budget, financial, audit, or reporting issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor.
