What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audio-Visual Specialist position at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC)?
Under direct supervision, coordinates the operation and maintenance of audiovisual equipment for the GBMC Conference Centers as well as associated conference rooms, meeting spaces, and virtual meetings. Coordinates the scheduling and logistical setup of meeting rooms. Stages and prepares all hardware and software required for scheduled events and meetings. Assists event organizers and participants with utilization of all Conference Center equipment including but not limited to : PCs, laptops, projectors, LCD displays, web / audio / video conferencing solutions, and sound equipment. Completes quality assurance walkthroughs prior to the beginning of events / meetings, provides onsite support during events / meetings and executes all duties as assigned.
Education2 years of college, or equivalent technical experience
Experience1 years' experience relating to event coordination and audio / visual supportSkillsProficient in the configuration and operation of audio visual equipment including but not limited to : projectors, LCD displays, sound mixers, wireless and wired microphone systems, amplifiers, video / web cameras, DSPs, video switches, media recorders, and touch panel displays.Proficient in the use of multiple software platforms including but not limited to : Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Mac OS, Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, Quicktime and VLC player.Proficient in current VTC applications including WebEx and Microsoft Teams.Experience using Crestron, Extron, and other corporate audio / visual solution manufacturers and equipment.High degree of demonstrated customer service and hospitality skills. This includes a heightened sense of customer focus at all times to include the AV team as well as internal and external clients.Skill in oral and written communication.Skill in data analysis and interpretation.Physical RequirementsAbility to concentrate and pay close attention to detailAbility to walk and stand for long periods of time, and to push, pull and lift for up to fifty percentof work time.Working ConditionsOffice with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.Patient & Workplace Safety : Employee has knowledge and understanding of patient and workforce safety as it relates to job duties.

Secures Medical Center property against theft and / or damage.Sets up audiovisual equipment including but not limited to : PCs, laptops, projectors, LCD displays, web / audio / video conferencing solutions, and sound equipment.Serves as the onsite technical support for all events / meetings taking place in the GBMC Conference Center.Performs routine repairs, cleans and maintains audiovisual equipment and arranges for major repairs as necessary.Maintains conference reception area schedule monitor.Coordinates the scheduling of meeting rooms Microsoft Outlook.Maintains statistics on audiovisual equipment usage.Completes quality assurance walkthroughs prior to all meetings / events to ensure proper equipment functionality and setup.
