Genetic Counselor

Under limited supervision, performs genetic counseling for cancer risk assessment and prenatal diagnosis. Determines the appropriate genetic tests for at-risk individuals / families. Acts as a liaison between the patient / family, the testing laboratory, and the referring physician; conveys the results of genetic testing to the patient / family and the referring physician.Education : Graduation from an American Board of Genetic Counseling-certified genetic counselor training program, with a Masters' degree in genetic counseling.Licensure : Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or eligibility for such certification.Experience : Two years of relevant experience preferred.Skills :

• Knowledge of genetic counseling theories, therapies and techniques of casework process
• Skill in needs analysis
• Skill in grant writing and management
• Detail oriented with excellent telephone, analytical, organization and time management skills
• Collaboration with clinical staff regarding challenging patient needs
• Skill in data analysis and interpretation
• Strong interpersonal skills

Pay Range

55,400.42 - $88,640.67

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
