REPORTS TO: Campus Director
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time, 220 days, 8 hours per day
DATE OF AVAILABILITY: 2025-26 School Year
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Director of Student Services is responsible for assisting in the implementation of school policies and procedures related to all Student Services including special education, school wellness, school counseling/mental health services and school nurses within the district.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership/ Special Education or other related fieldAdministrative licensure through the Ohio Department of Education
Successful teaching, intervention and administrative experience, high school/ career tech is preferred
Willingness to work with students, faculty, staff and community partners as a team member
Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent problem solving, organizational and technology skills
Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check after a job offer is made.
Maintains compliance with Board policies and other applicable procedures/guidelines
- Develops and/or updates administrative procedures to comply with legal mandates. Helps update and distribute student/parent and teacher handbooks.
- Upholds board policies and follows administrative procedures.
- Maintains visibility. Promotes a favorable image of the school district. Builds community partnerships that enhance district programs and services.
- Supervise school nurses and other assigned staff members.
- Serves as special education liaison between WCCC and all affiliate schools.
- Maintain knowledge of state and local requirements and regulations affecting special education and school health/wellness programs.
- Provide leadership for the guidance, psychological, health and social casework services for the district.
- Supports a full range of educational options. Works with response to intervention (RTI) intervention assistance teams (IAT). Participates in parent conferences and IEP meetings as requested.
- Prepares and maintains student services budget. Submits reports on time. Maintains district records for the maximum period mandated by law and/or board policy.
- Helps supervise the collection, entry, and verification of educational management information and student data (e.g., EMIS, etc.) as directed.
- Oversees PBIS for the two campuses in collaboration with campus directors.
- Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
- Participates in national, state, and/or regional activities that advance district goals.
- Participates in professional growth opportunities.
- Accepts personal responsibility for decisions and conduct. Strives to develop rapport and serves as a positive role model for others.
- Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.
