We are seeking a Career and Technical Education Culinary Arts / Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher at William Henry Harrison High School for the 2025/2026 school year and beyond.
Job Summary: The ideal candidate will plan, implement, and deliver specialized instruction in a specific career field, focusing on hands-on learning experiences to equip students with the technical skills and knowledge needed to enter the workforce, often utilizing workshops and labs to teach practical applications of industry-standard tools and techniques, while also incorporating academic knowledge relevant to their chosen career path.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement lesson plans aligned with CTE / FCS standards, incorporating industry-specific content, safety procedures, and practical applications.
- Demonstrate techniques, supervise students in labs, and provide opportunities for practice using relevant tools and equipment.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported in their academic and personal growth.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with varying abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles.
- Assess student progress regularly through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and stakeholders to support school-wide initiatives, interdisciplinary projects, and extracurricular activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic expectations through conferences, emails, newsletters, and other forms of communication.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills, stay current on educational research and best practices, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the social studies program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education.
- Valid Ohio Career and Technical Education license or Family and Consumer Sciences license.
- Strong knowledge of Ohio state standards and curriculum frameworks for Career and Technical Education or Family and Consumer Sciences.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Passion for inspiring students to become informed, engaged, and responsible citizens.
