What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Substitute Custodian position at Greater Cincinnati School Application Consortium?
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas
- Handle special cleaning tasks as needed, including floor waxing, carpet cleaning, window washing, and disinfecting surfaces
- Assist with trash and recycling removal, ensuring proper disposal in designated areas
- Replenish restroom supplies (paper products, soap, etc.)
- Respond to urgent cleaning requests and spills promptly to maintain safety and cleanliness
- Collaborate with other custodial staff to ensure effective coverage of assigned areas
- Secure school facilities, including locking doors and windows, and reporting any maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Assist with light maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, unclogging drains) as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and use cleaning supplies and equipment according to established guidelines
Qualifications:
- Prior custodial or cleaning experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including 1st and 2nd shift coverage
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods
- Dependability and punctuality are essential
Work Environment:
This position will require working in various areas of the school, including classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, and more. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other environmental conditions may be expected.
