What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lebanon City Schools: Teacher on Special Assignment: Dean of Students 25/26sy position at Greater Cincinnati School Application Consortium?
The Warren County Alternative School is closing at the end of the 2024-25 school year. As a result of this closure, Lebanon High School is offering a new program called The Drake Passage. Below is a description of the program, the anticipated benefits of the new program, and job opportunities created as a result of the creation of the new program.
Program Description
THE DRAKE Passage- The Drake Passage is a student-centered program designed to foster growth through connection, flexibility, and support. Through a flexible structure, meaningful relationships, and a commitment to each learner’s strengths, we create a place where students can thrive. Located on Drake Road, it brings together educators, families, and students to create a learning environment that adapts to individual needs while building community.
Benefits of a New Program
The new program is being developed in response to the closure of the current Warren County Alternative School and to better meet the growing needs of the students involved. Unlike the current program, which is designed exclusively for Tier 3 students, the new program will serve both Tier 2 and Tier 3 students, providing support to a broader range of learners. Additionally, students will remain at Lebanon High School rather than attending an off-site location, allowing for greater continuity in their school experience.
Another significant difference is the instructional model. In the new program, students will be under the direct supervision of a licensed teacher at Lebanon High School while also having access to a licensed instructor through the Graduation Alliance program. This dual-support system ensures students receive academic guidance from multiple sources. Furthermore, while the current alternative school program requires students to attend for a full day, the new program will be a partial day model, offering more flexibility in their schedules.
One of the biggest advantages of the new program is that students will have better access to school resources. By remaining at Lebanon High School, they can more easily meet with their school counselor, visit the school nurse, and continue participating in extracurricular activities. This increased access to support services and school engagement opportunities will help create a more inclusive and effective intervention program designed to better support students' academic and behavioral success.
