Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students and staff, including managing chronic conditions, injuries, and acute illnesses.
- Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with special medical needs.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with medical and legal guidelines.
- Conduct screenings and health assessments for vision, hearing, and other health concerns.
- Promote health education and wellness activities for students, staff, and families.
- Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, and parents to support student well-being.
- Ensure compliance with state and district health regulations, including communicable disease protocols.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Valid Ohio Department of Education School Nurse License or ability to obtain licensure.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Knowledge of state and federal health regulations related to school health services.
- Experience in pediatric or community health nursing preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience working in a multicultural setting is preferred.
