The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is seeking an Engineering Co-op to assist the Engineering & Project Development Department. This is a temporary full-time position.
Detailed DescriptionDuties:
Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering & Project Development, the Engineering Co-op will assist in rail and bus transit project design, administration and construction management of GCRTA Capital Program projects. Co-op will be asked to participate in project meetings and communicate with other members of the larger project team and internal staff from other GCRTA divisions, principally Operations and Safety. Ongoing projects include rail and signal construction projects, tie replacement and track rehabilitation, construction of E. 79th Red Line Station, Warrensville-Van Aken Substation and station improvements, and numerous smaller projects at various stages of design and construction. Most projects involve multiple Engineering disciplines such as Mechanical and Electrical but are often principally Civil and heavy construction. This position will promote a safe and secure atmosphere, follow all safety and security rules and perform other related duties as assigned.
Job RequirementsRequirements:
- Applicant must have completed one or more years of an Engineering Program.
- Applicant must be willing to travel downtown and throughout Cuyahoga County to heavy construction sites that may have active bus or rail traffic.
- Applicant should be interested in interacting with a diverse group of agency, contractor and other interested stakeholders.
- Experience in the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint is a plus.
Successful candidates will be expected to pass a background check and drug test. A valid Ohio Driver's License is required.
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
