Under the general direction of the Early Care and Education Coordinator, has primary
responsibility for the daily oversight of center operations, including assurance of
compliance with minimum standards and standards established to assure high-quality
early childhood services. This position has oversight of a team of staff (infant and toddler
caregivers, teachers, teacher assistants, floaters, bus drivers, assistant site supervisor,
administrative assistant, family advocates, cooks, and substitute pool) and facility
management assuring the compliance with all funding source mandates, all applicable
federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and assures standards of excellence
including the Head Start Performance Standards are met. This position supports the
development of the center structure, management systems, plans, policies and
procedures.
Core Responsibilities
In addition, this position has the responsibility for supporting the Early Care and Education
Coordinator with the administration, fiscal, legal, and center oversight for all within the
program. It bears the responsibility of assuring that all classrooms are strategically
positioned for future growth which allows the program to continue to support the agency
to fulfill its mission. This position also assists with determining eligibility, recruitment,
selection, enrollment, and attendance of Early Head Start eligible children and families,
including pregnant woman in accordance to the performance standards to support all
Early Childhood programs.
Working Conditions
1. Primarily an office position with various state or national travel (as deemed
necessary or appropriate); noise level is usually moderate; sitting for long periods
of time.
2. Regular and reliable attendance required.
3. Should have a current and valid driver’s license for on the job usage related to job
functions.

services program.

Minimum Job Requirements
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and delegate responsibilities
- Ability to make decisions that are regulatory on organizational, federal, state,
as directed
- Excellent written, verbal and computer skills are required
- Frequently faces deadlines with attention to detail and must complete tasks in a

- 2 to 5 years of management and supervisory experience and Direct/Related
