Job Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for overall Forecasting, Organizing, Building, and Expanding the potential of Greater Erie Auto Auction (GEAA). In addition, the General Manager will focus on business performance, and engagement with staff and customers to meet sales and profit goals together. Based on Glovis' policies and guidelines, the General Manager will actively engage and partner with Glovis to build up a stronger business.
Responsibilities:
[Team Management]
- Lead, mentor and motivate GEAA’s team to achieve performance and engagement goals.
- Create a culture of success and engagement to increase the operations efficiency and develop future leaders.
- Communicate clearly and openly with GEAA team to foster disseminating the goals and expectations of the business.
- Set goals and KPIs for managers and deliver annual reviews.
- Partner with Glovis to hire, recruit, train and retain a successful team.
[Business Strategies and Planning]
- Act as a bridge between GEAA and Glovis, ensuring alignment in culture, performance, policies, and business direction.
- Develop and execute business strategies with Glovis by monitoring and analyzing auction results, operational efficiency, financial performance, market trend, competitor activities and customer feedback.
- Prepare and present various reports on performance analysis to Glovis.
[Business Management]
- Oversee all operational and sales aspects of the auction.
- Manage budgetary goals, financial forecasting, and cost control measures.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
[Customer Relationship Management]
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, fleets, and financial institutions.
- Handle high-level customer service issues and resolve conflicts effectively.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years as a manager or other relevant experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of business operations and customer service excellence.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent negotiation, sales, and relationship-building abilities.
- Knowledge of auction software and digital platforms is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
