JOB SUMMARY
The Cause-Driven Leader on Duty is responsible for ensuring staff and volunteers are fostering the Y’s culture. The Cause-Driven Leader on Duty accomplishes this by focusing on the following core areas: Modeling our four service and engagement principles - capturing living our cause moments, enhancing Y operations, reminding and celebrating staff. The appropriate person for this role will coach and lead staff and volunteers as well as make sure that everyone follows safety standards and policies of the Y.

Hours of the position are 4-8pm Monday-Thursday, with the option to work 1-2 days per week, or work bi-weekly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure all staff on duty are living our cause and demonstrating our culture- how we show up and how we engage people.
- Walks throughout facility and interacts with staff and members through shift using the Y’s service and engagement principles.
- Coach front line staff on their service and engagement behaviors and habits.
- Assist with tours and the welcome desk during prime-time hours.
- Is the first point of contact for any facility issues or incidents.
- Manage and document incidents and captures items for follow through.
- Complete and submit the Cause-Driven Leader on Duty Report at the end of the shift.
- Act according to facility protocol to ensure safety of all staff and children which includes:
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with staff and children.
- Attend required abuse risk management training.
- Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Ensure children are properly signed in and out, ensure only authorized adults are allowed in the facility, etc.
- Ensure unused rooms and closets remain locked, routinely monitor high-risk locations (locker rooms and bathrooms), etc.
SKILLS AND TRAINING
- Possess the competence and confidence to supervise a safe environment for all members, program participants, volunteers and staff.
- Demonstrate the ability to cooperate and work with other Y staff to provide a quality environment.
- Must familiarize with YMCA rules and guidelines. Since position is working directly with members and staff, above average communication and problem solving skills along with a good understanding of the operation of facility is needed.
- Demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and genuine willingness to assume a visible presence in the facility.
- Be friendly and professional at all times.
- Must be 21 years or older.

- Cause-Driven Tour Training Post Workshop Evaluation
- Cause-Driven Leader on Duty Training
- CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and evenings required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Moving about freeing to assist coworkers in other work stations is important. You will also need to walk around the building turning on or off equipment or lights and lightly clean up. As a safety responder, the ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, move quickly, and/or lift at least 30 pounds will be necessary.
