What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Processor & Closer position at Greater Iowa Credit Union?
- Prepare closing documents. Reviews loan to determine all conditions have been met prior to closing. Prepare and send final loan packages to the secondary market. Ensure that post closing documents are correct and received or sent in a timely manner.
- Review all closing details to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. While ensuring that all terms of the loan are met. They work with borrows and title companies on any outstanding closing conditions required to fund the loan.
- Process applications and verify accuracy for prime, sub-prime, secondary market and open and closed end mortgage loans. Review all disclosures for fixed and variable rate loans. Submit loan file for underwriting approval.
- Request and evaluate property abstract, survey, appraisal, and flood certification. Obtain title work from attorney and proof of insurance.
- Actively participate in efforts to continually improve member service by being proactive in communication efforts.
- Cross train and support service operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training
or apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
