What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fort Dodge Middle School Campus Life Ministry Director position at Greater Iowa Youth For Christ?
The Campus Life Director oversees middle school ministry at Fort Dodge Middle School. This is a professional position that requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills, the ability to work with and through other people, communication skills, a heart for reaching young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the ability to minister to youth in evangelism and discipleship within the context of YFC methodology. They also need to demonstrate commitment to Youth for Christ Statement of Faith, as outlined in the Personnel Policy.
Campus Life ministry combines healthy relationships with creative programs to help young people make good choices, establish a solid foundation for life, and positively impact their schools. Campus Life directors work with local teachers, counselors, administrators, youth pastors and parents in hopes of developing positive support networks for young people.
Essential Functions/ Job Duties
Guided by the Five Essentials and implementing Relational Ministry Actions, the Campus Life Director is accountable to the Senior Ministry Director and Executive Director. The Five Essentials are targets of faithfulness to be practiced at each YFC ministry site so that the Spirit of God may favor the ministry with fruitfulness and sustainability.

Spiritual Responsibilities
Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth for Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate, and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of YFC be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.
As an employee of Youth for Christ and an associate minister of the Gospel, YFC expects all employees to:
- Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
- Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
- Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
- Model empathy, humility and care for all people. This includes promoting equity and inclusion in word and in the practice of faith expression. YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth for Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth for Christ USA.

Credentials Required & Preferred Education
- A high school diploma is required, Bachelors degree preferred
- All full-time staff are required to complete their Leadership Blueprint within 2 years of hire and upon completion, will be awarded a YFC/USA Ministry Credential.
Qualification
A candidate must be a self-starter with a passion for discipleship and relational evangelism, who wants to be part of an excellent growing team of youth ministry professionals. The candidate must be willing to live in or relocate to their ministry area.

Fundraising Responsibilities
All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC USA. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.
