Shift Available: 6:45am-12:30pm, 12pm-6pm
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supervises a group of children up to 15 children ranging from 2-17 years of age and ensure participation in safe activities at all times.

Self-motivated to plan and implement program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values. Activities include, but are not limited to, field trips, arts and crafts, swimming, nature walks, indoor/outdoor games and general recreation.

Adheres to program standards including safety, risk management and cleanliness standards.

Attends staff meetings and trainings.

Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.

Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.

Model healthy eating behaviors and active participation in accordance with Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) Standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least age 16.

Previous experience working with children preferably in a day camp setting.

Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, camping, arts, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc.

CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Harassment training prior to first day of hire.

Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

Ability to work long hours, outdoors, in the heat while keeping a positive attitude.
