Housekeeping is responsible for the cleanliness of assigned GLCAC properties. This position will also track cleaning supplies and restocking and perform a variety of housekeeping duties.
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for floor care and performing surface tasks including vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and spot cleaning carpets in all office areas. Also includes carrying out tasks including dusting, spraying and cleaning
- Cleans and maintains all rooms of Main Office and assigned center(s), including office space, hallways, bathrooms, stairwells, and classrooms plus common areas of the assigned area or building
- Assures proper disposal of garbage/trash
- Conducts regular inspections at assigned site to ensure ongoing cleanliness and safety of the facility
- Performs carpet and hard floor surface maintenance including windows at the front entrance
- As required, cleans and sanitizes following the outbreak and gains knowledge of the equipment
- Tracks inventory of maintenance supplies and assists with procurement procedures as assigned
- Assists with housekeeping duties at other sites when assigned
- Ensures that every receptacle has covers and doors are child-proof to meet Head Start safety inspections
- Stocks cleaning supplies as directed
- Communicate with the facility manager about safety, hazards, and repair concerns
- Assists with other cross-component duties as assigned by supervisor
- Knowledge of methods and practices used in basic housekeeping work
- Excellent at following directions and completing tasks assigned
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license
- Ability to work and communicate with administrative as well as center staff
- Ability to lift items to 50 pounds
- Use of own vehicle as a means of transportation
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Show documented proof of current physical exam, negative TB test, and evidence of MMR immunity. (Hepatitis B immunity is advisable). EEC Background Record Check will be required
- Must have suitable CORI, SORI & DCF background checks on file before employment
