What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part - Time After Dark Program Supervisor position at Greater Lawrence Technical School?
Part-Time Monday - Friday 3 pm - 6 pm
Under the direction of the Director of Grants and Workforce Development, the After Dark Program Superviosr oversees the operations of the GLTS After Dark Program and supervises program teachers and staff. Other duties as assigned. This is a part-time position with a Monday through Friday 3 pm – 6 pm schedule that is negotiable.

• Enforce and monitor the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Office for Career / Vocational Technical Education, and GLTS school regulations as pertains to the After Dark Program.
• Supervise After Dark staff and ensure they are adhering to DESE standards, following prescribed schedule, and operating a clean and orderly career area where safety devices and protocols are integral to the shop.
• Ensure that teachers maintain updated substitute career area folders and provide guidance for substitutes.
• With guidance from the Coordinator and school administration, adapt existing staff evaluation formats for After Dark, and evaluate staff on an annual basis.
• With guidance from the Coordinator and school administration, lead teachers in the adaptation of the curriculum in each CTE area offered in After Dark, so all CTE frameworks are covered in the 900 hour course of study.
• Schedule and lead the After Dark annual program rhythm including staff orientation and PD prior to school start, setting up 11th grade exploratory and shop selection, start of the school year student orientation, and on-going assemblies, celebrations and graduation.
• Oversee student bus transportation.
• Monitor student attendance with reports from the School Culture Specialist / Parent Liaison, and enforce school attendance expectations as found in the After Dark Student Handbook.
• Enforce and monitor for compliance student conformity with school policy, school regulations, and student disciplinary code regulations. In consultation with the Coordinator, work with teachers, and the Parent Liaison / School Cultural Specialist to address non-compliance with parents/guardians and students.
• Coordinate with the Workforce Development Program Assistant to ensure After Dark CTE areas have all supplies and equipment needed, and that students have adequate support such as a Chromebook, GLTS email, and locker.
• Maintain communication with partner schools on all issues related to After Dark operations.
• Work with partner schools to plan outreach and recruitment for the program; work with GLTS Admissions to review and recommend selection of new students according to the GLTS After Dark Admissions Policy, organize New Student Orientation for new After Dark 11th graders.
• Assist in annual hiring of teachers and staff, After Dark program budgeting, After Dark strategic planning, preparation of After Dark Designation applications, and funding proposals as requested by the Coordinator.
• Attend meetings pertinent to school operations, especially as requested by the immediate supervisor. Look for ways to apply day school policies, procedures, and innovations to the After Dark Program.
• Act as Lunch Room Supervisor as necessary.
• Assume any and all additional duties as required by the Coordinator of Grants, Workforce Development, and After School / Evening CTE Programs, Principal, and/or Superintendent of Schools.
