Job Title: Personal Trainer
Status: Part-Time (Non-Exempt) Department: Health and Wellness

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Responsible to develop, implement, and instruct individualized fitness programs for one-on-one clients and small group personal training clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides excellent customer service by exceeding member and client expectations.
- Engages in active listening with members to build and maintain relationships.
- Educates clients and members about safe practices when engaging in physical activity.
- Writes appropriate programs within scope of practice for exercise, nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of fitness research, principles and trends.
- Supervises clients during training sessions, educates clients and supports clients in reaching their goals.
- Attends mandatory staff meetings and participants in training seminars
- Completes and stays current with Redwoods safety trainings and fitness certifications.
