Job Title: STEAM Program Instructor

Status: Part-Time (Non-Exempt)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Program instructors focus on supporting youth development by instructing youth participants in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programming. The instructor will develop and implement curriculum while ensuring a quality experience for participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants in the program by providing close supervision of all activities.
- Visual Arts - introduces the fundamental concepts of different art mediums at the beginning and intermediate level.
- Music - introduces the fundamental concepts of music and instruments at the beginning and intermediate level.
- Clubs/STEM - Promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) concepts and facilitating club content.
- Evaluate, set up and break down of equipment and supplies.
- Evaluate programs and implement new opportunities.
- Adhere to YMCA policies, objectives, and rules.
- Actively participate in all designated trainings and meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 18 years of age. High School Diploma preferred.
- One year experience working with music, arts, STEM or similar field.
- Strong communication skills.
- CPR/AED certification to be obtained with employment.
