YMCA Camp Massapoag is seeking Lifeguards to work with campers ages 5-14 from June 17 - August 23, 2024. Applicants should be at least 16 years old. Salary starts at $16.00/hr for first year lifeguards.
Under direction of the Waterfront Coordinator, lifeguards plan and implement a safe and healthy camp waterfront program. Lifeguards cooperate with staff to guide campers throughout the camping experience, ensure safety and well being of campers, and supervise campers to ensure that camper and parent needs and expectations are met.
YMCA Camp Massapoag is a traditional summer day camp in Dunstable, MA offering a wide variety of activities for children ages 5-15. Campers participate in teambuilding games and challenges, arts and crafts, nature exploration, sports, and waterfront activities. Camp staff are responsible for helping campers build confidence, build a community, and have fun all summer long. They will gain valuable experience in group collaboration, conflict resolution, dynamic problem-solving, and outdoor education in a fun, fast-paced outdoor setting.
Ideal candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, are responsible, reliable, and enthusiastic, and have experience and expertise in their program area. Candidates with at least two years of professional experience in a camp, education, or childcare setting are preferred, but no such experience is required.
