SALARY RANGE: $57,000 - $67,000
After six months of employment, you can expect to receive a retention bonus of $2,000
SUMMARY of DUTIES:
Our Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) are designed to better meet the behavioral health needs at earlier junctures in a child/youth’s life to prevent the onset or progression of behavioral health conditions. These services aim to prevent the need for more restrictive and higher intensity services for children and youth. The Other Licensed Practitioner (OLP) is responsible for providing services to children and youth, ages 0-21, in their home or community-based settings. The clinical services provided under OLP are intended to help prevent the progression of behavioral health needs through early identification and intervention, and may be provided to children/youth in need of assessment for whom behavioral health conditions have not yet been diagnosed. Services are also intended to provide treatment to correct or ameliorate a delay or problem in developmental functioning and healthy relationships for children/youth with existing diagnosis for whom flexible community based treatment is needed. In addition, an assessment of needs may result in the recommendation of further medically necessary services, such as rehabilitative services. The Clinician will support recovery by providing services that reflect our deeply held values that include the recognition of individual rights of self-determination, choice, shared decision-making and collaboration. When possible he/she will utilize evidence-based practices; always embracing a trauma-informed and person-centered approach. Services are delivered in a trauma informed, culturally and linguistically competent manner.
SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive, strength-based assessments of service and clinical needs to determine appropriateness for OLP or other CFTSS services.
- Refer to other CFTSS services as indicated.
- Develop a treatment plan in collaboration with the child, their families, and their care team.
- Provide ongoing individual and/or family therapy in the client’s home or community-based locations or through video conferencing.
- Communicate with school and other community providers regarding the child’s progress.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date and complete case records, including documentation, and provide written reports and statistics as required.
- Participate in team meetings, consultations, and individual supervision.
- Complete the required number of client contact hours to meet productivity standards.
- Participate in program development and in-service trainings.
- Follow the established agency policies & procedures and meet all guidelines set forth by regulatory bodies.
- Maintain appropriate professional standards.
- Due to the nature of the program, must have the ability to be flexible with working hours.
- Other related duties.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Principles, practices and methods of community mental health treatment including interviewing, assessment, family, child, and group counseling and crisis intervention.
- Child psychology, including development and psychopathology.
- Applicable city, state and federal guidelines and laws affecting mental health treatment, services and reporting procedures.
- Characteristics and types of mental and emotional illness.
- Principles of psychological growth and development.
- Familiarity with and ability to use an Electronic Health Record system.
- Must be able to effectively engage clients.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
- Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The candidate must hold one of the following New York State licenses: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or Licensed Psychoanalyst. Limited permit eligible candidates will be considered.
- Basic Computer knowledge is required.
- Must be reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
- The Clinician must have a valid Driver’s License and a driving record that is satisfactory to our insurance carrier. The Clinician will be using agency vehicles and is responsible for adhering to Agency Driver Policy
- The Clinician must maintain current New York State Defensive Driving certification.
- The Clinician must be cleared by the NYS Justice Center through fingerprinting for a Criminal History Records search.
- The Clinician must be cleared by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services for instances of child abuse and/or neglect.
- The Clinician must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
