The X-ray Technician will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients as per physician's orders, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standards.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
- Operate X-ray equipment and ensure proper functioning through routine maintenance checks.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures performed and patient information in compliance with medical regulations.
- Stay updated on advancements in imaging technology and techniques, including nuclear medicine, PET scans, mammography, and sonography.
- Ensure compliance with infection control policies and maintain a clean work environment.
Experience
- Certification as an X-ray Technician from an accredited program is required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred, especially within an ER or trauma center environment.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to imaging procedures is essential.
- Experience with additional modalities such as nuclear medicine, PET scans, sonography, or mammography is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a busy healthcare setting.
