JOB SUMMARY :
This position oversees the management and growth of designated international market production, aligning with the goals set by senior leadership. The Sales Manager, International Accounts, will generate and pursue sales leads within a specific territory or market segment to secure room nights at Bureau partner hotels and collaborate with the Miami Beach Convention Center as needed to assist in destination selection. Additionally, this role promotes Miami as a leading destination for meetings and conventions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Proactively identify, develop, and implement sales strategies for International Accounts within their territory, in close collaboration with the Director of International Accounts.
- Increase sales and develop new areas of business for the destination.
- Foster collaborative relationships with other account managers / account executives.
- Establish and cultivate relationships in new market sectors within designated market to enhance awareness and drive new bookings.
- Responsible for reviewing and negotiating the terms and conditions of tradeshows and sales missions' agreements in accordance with the approved budget and with senior management approval.
- Account management activities within the market, including overall management of department budget.
- Assessing the needs of international accounts, educating them on Miami's overall hotel business practices, and creating customized RFPs to address their specific requirements.
- Oversee and track sales tradeshows, sales missions, and client engagement events aimed at international audiences within designated market, while remaining informed about new exposure opportunities.
- Review sales numbers for assigned accounts, identify areas for improvement, collaborating with sales representatives to identify challenges, work cohesively to create solutions and develop new strategies to increase sales.
- Frequent interaction with clients to ensure top notch customer service and resolution.
- Foster strong relationships with hotel partners to identify opportunities to support them with and drive preference for the hotel and destination.
- Responsible for following departmental and general administrative processes and procedures including utilization of Simpleview database to track sales leads, bookings, and sales activities, completing and submit business related expense reports, vendor check requests, generating and creating reports using spreadsheets.
- Provide briefings on sales activities to supervisor as requested.
- May work on special projects assigned by department leaders, from time to time.
- Solicits and secures leads for in-hotel and convention center opportunities through various channels, including prospecting, event attendance, sales trips, amongst others.
- Meet and / or exceed sales goals provided by leaders based on destination needs and targets.
- Produces sales leads, bookings, lost business transmittals and pre and post trip reports.
- Coordinate and carry out site inspections of hotel venues and partner locations within the destination.
- Organizes sales trips / blitzes with creative theme; producing mailing, solicitation list, followed-up with reports and expenses.
- Attends local industry meetings, trade shows, familiarization trips, luncheons, etc.
- Coordinates and develops proposals.
- Collect key RFP details from meetings and events before sharing them with hotel partners.
- Makes presentations to organizations promoting Greater Miami & the Beaches.
- Other projects and tasks may be needed throughout the year.
- Successfully interact with hotel sales managers and representatives, meeting planners, vendors and clients by telephone, written correspondence, other forms of electronic and in-person.
- Successfully collaborate with organizational staff across departments, as needed, to gather information for task completion.
