Greater Midland - Assistant Teacher
The Position
Under the direction of the Lead Teacher(s), the Assistant Teacher is responsible for providing high quality care to children enrolled in the Early Childhood Programs. This role also participates in the implementation of daily routine and age/developmentally appropriate learning opportunities.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Maintain daily documentation of activities, progress, milestones and Key Developmental Indicators.
- Engage with parents/guardians through written, verbal and social media platforms.
- Consistently engage at the child’s level throughout daily routine.
- Support Lead Teacher in daily activities.
- Build and maintain heathy and supportive relationships between children and parents while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
- Ensure the safety of all children at all times.
- Complete 24-plus hours of professional development per year.
Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- CDA preferred. (3 credit hours in child related field preferred).
- Experience working with children preferred.
- TB and Fingerprint clearance required.
- Complete CPR/First Aid as needed.
Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. The ability to continuously physically engage at a child’s level. Bending, twisting, and reaching is required.
