About The Position:
The Senior Diversified Assets Officer is primarily responsible for managing a portfolio of problem credits to resolution. The Senior Diversified Assets Officer is expected to have extensive knowledge of credit risk management, workout strategies, restructuring methods, and legal matters related to commercial lending and will focus on credit rehabilitation. The candidate will exercise a high degree of autonomy in order to resolve complex problem credits on behalf of the lending groups and ensure the operational effectiveness of the department.
What You'll Be Doing
Develop, negotiate, and implement loan restructuring proposals for complex and multi-tiered transactions, culminating in committing the financial institution to financial and technical agreements.
Prepare and present complex, well-written credit presentations for use by credit committees, investors, participants, and Agencies in making credit decisions. Complete quarterly reviews for all assigned adversely-graded loans to include risk rating recommendations and comprehensive action plans. Judgement must be exercised to determine if deviation from or waiving standard policies and procedures are warranted in order to achieve desired outcome for borrower, lending group, and business operations.
Establish and maintain relationships with internal departments as well as external parties, including borrower, attorneys, co-lenders, Agency representatives, and other professionals involved in the restructure process.
Leverage relationships in order to affect positive outcomes for overall business operations and strategic growth.
Review and assess department deliverables and make recommendations for improvement as needed; serve as subject matter expert for diversified assets department, complete projects as assigned and diligently work to cross train other employees. Implement procedural and policy changes that significantly impact operational effectiveness related to Diversified Assets.
Research and stay current on a wide variety of topics and issues including regulatory matters, market trends, best practices, and new tools and techniques relevant to the position and independently apply knowledge to complex cases.
Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in special assets required to include the following: Analyzing financial statements, Negotiating with borrowers and creditors and Restructuring and liquidating assets
