Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Graduate Medical Education and Health Workforce, the Director, Graduate Medical Education will support GNYHA member institutions on a broad range of areas, including graduate medical education (GME). The Director will be responsible for GME and other designated subject areas in whatever regulatory or statutory authorities they appear, including Accreditation Council for GME requirements and local, State, and Federal laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Identify members’ needs in their GME operations and develop and execute educational programs and other resources to address them (e.g., recognizing trends in gaps of knowledge across member GME office staff and developing educational webinars or toolkits to address them).
- Co-lead meetings with member groups (e.g., GME Administrators, residency program directors, and residency program coordinators) to gather feedback on program and resource development.
- Manage new and existing projects related to faculty development and GME office staff development, including obtaining and organizing information from members and other sources, tracking program progress, creating agendas and action items, meeting summaries, and managing team documents.
- Evaluate changes to GME policy and draft written and oral communications (e.g., monthly newsletters, ad hoc bulletins, and meeting summaries) for internal staff and members, conveying technical content in a non-technical manner.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as public health, public policy, health care administration, or health care management. Other fields will be considered with applicable experience.
- At least four years’ experience coordinating GME-related operations and initiatives, including monitoring and analyzing GME-related policy changes within a health care institution, regulatory agency, or academic research organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to manage multiple deadlines for a variety of projects, and to maintain flexibility with shifting project priorities.
Salary Range: $110,000 – $117,500
The salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement. When determining exact compensation, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, skills, budget, and internal equity).

Work Schedule: A hybrid model with the expectation to work physically in our office Tuesdays and Wednesdays as mandatory in-office days with a third in-office day at your discretion, in coordination with your supervisor and in accordance with the business needs of your department. This schedule may be subject to change in GNYHA’s sole discretion. This is a full-time position.
