We are looking for a dedicated Pre-K Extended Day Teacher & Van Driver to join our team. This dual-role position involves supervising and engaging with Pre-K students during extended-day programming while ensuring safe transportation of children to and from school to our STEM After-School program at Greater Peace Baptist Church.
Responsibilities: Extended Day Teacher Duties:
- Supervise and engage Pre-K students in structured activities, play, and learning experiences.
- Assist with homework, crafts, and enrichment activities in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment.
- Provide positive behavior guidance and support children’s social and emotional development.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding children’s activities and progress.
Van Driver Duties:
- Safely transport children to and from school, field trips, and other designated locations.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and organizational transportation policies.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure the van is clean and well-maintained.
- Assist children with entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
- Maintain accurate records of pick-ups and drop-offs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred).
- Experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must meet federal, state, and local childcare and transportation safety requirements.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically active environment.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 1:30 pm-5:30 pm- during the school year with the possibility to work our summer program during the school year. The person hired for this position may also request to be used as a substitute teacher in an effort to increase hours and pay.
