About Us
The Greater Peace Community Development Corporation is seeking a passionate math and reading teacher to help students strengthen their math skills in a fun and engaging summer learning environment for grades 1-6.
***Must complete a Child and Adult Neglect Background check through DHR.
Responsibilities:
Math
- Develop and deliver interactive math lessons tailored to different skill levels.
- Use games, activities, and real-life examples to make math engaging.
- Assess students' progress and provide individualized support.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Communicate with parents and staff regarding student progress.
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
Reading
- Plan and implement engaging reading activities, including storytelling, group reading, and literacy games.
- Help students improve comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary skills.
- Assess reading levels and track progress.
- Foster a love of reading through interactive and creative approaches.
- Communicate with parents and staff about student progress and strategies for continued learning.
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
Qualifications:
- College of Education Student, School Paraprofessional, Retired Teacher, or Certified Teacher
- Ability to follow lesson plans
- Experience teaching reading to children.
- Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.
June 3rd-July 11th (Monday-Friday/ 7:15 am-12:15 pm/ Closed Juneteenth and July 4th)
