We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and hardworking Child Care Onboarding Specialist to support the development and growth of GPY’s child care team. The Child Care Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for onboarding new child care team members at every level, guiding them through the hiring process and providing necessary support and training during their first 90 days on the job. Additionally, the role will ensure staff are effectively onboarded and prepared to deliver excellence in child care programs and services.

- Support with candidate communication regarding clearances and reference checks to ensure compliance with YMCA and state regulations.
- Assist hiring managers with any questions related to the hiring process, clearances, and ATS functionality.
- Ensure smooth processing of new hires and rehires into the ATS and onboard them efficiently.
- Help streamline the onboarding process for new staff, ensuring clarity and consistency in training and orientation.
- Schedule interviews and support hiring managers in the interview process.
- Build relationships with HR and child care teams to help promote a positive talent acquisition strategy.
- Lead the onboarding plan for child care staff members for their first 90 days of employment in partnership with their direct supervisor.
- Ensure that child care new hires are prepared to deliver quality program that meet state licensing regulations and Quality Rating System standards (e.g., NAEYC, Keystone STARS, Grow NJ Kids, ACA).
- Ensure that new hires complete mandatory GPY trainings.
- Lead and/or schedule training and workshops for new hires.
- Ensure that new hires receive feedback and have the opportunity to give feedback during their first 30 days.
- Partner with HR to plan, organize and/or attend job fairs and recruitment events for child care.
- Maintain a high level of interaction and engagement with child care leaders.
- Attend team-planning meetings and contribute to discussions about program improvements, staffing needs, and training.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years of related work experience in talent acquisition, human resources, or child care management.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to engage with staff, children and stakeholders in a professional and caring manner.
- Microsoft Office experience required; Strong Excel skills preferred
- Experience working with an ATS is strongly preferred
- Exhibit strong communication skills and attention to detail
