What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Helpdesk Assistant position at Greater Regional Health?
Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding help requests from end users in a courteous and timely manner.
- Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.
- Record, track, and document the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
- Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
- Assist in performing preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
- Develop help sheets and frequently asked questions lists for end users.
- Ability to recognize limits and ability to escalate ticket based on type of problem.
Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Knowledge of basic computer hardware and desktop/server Operating Systems Windows.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service approach.
- Experience in a customer service role is a plus!
- IT certification is desired but not a requirement.
