What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Specialist-GRCSU position at Greater Rutland County Supervisory Union?
Greater Rutland County Supervisory Union is seeking a full time Behavior Specialist.
Responsibilities:
Ability to work independently with a variety of student disabilities in a variety of environments
Conduct behavior assessments and devise appropriate behavior plans for students who require all levels of behavior programming
Develop appropriate positive behavior intervention plans and social skills curriculum
Oversee programming for identified students by consulting with team members about behavior plans, curriculum modifications, accommodations and social skills
Oversee positive behavior intervention plans for implementation and assess effectiveness of behavior plans and curriculum modifications
Provide ongoing training and consultation to students, teachers and paraprofessionals
Ensure behavioral strategies are implemented consistently and accurately across all settings
Develop data-taking mechanisms and reporting strategies for information
Utilize technology to collect and analyze student data and to demonstrate data using charts and graphs
Attend team meetings as requested
Work with team to develop IEP and utilize individualized student data to report on progress reports
Work 1:1 with students and run social skill groups as needed
Provide ongoing training for 1:1, 1:2 paraprofessionals and special education liaisons
Student Support Team Facilitator
