What are the responsibilities and job description for the Literacy Specialist-Poultney Elementary School 2025-2026 position at Greater Rutland County Supervisory Union?
PoES school is looking for a highly skilled Literacy Specialist beginning the 2025-2026 school year. This position includes small group, targeted intervention across grades K-6. The successful candidate will possess the following attributes: knowledge of research based best practices, collecting and analyzing data to collaborate with staff in determining best programming and interventions that promote literacy levels, as part of the MTSS process. Knowledge of Common Core Standards in regard to high-priority concepts as means to provide best instructional techniques that are specialized in content and process.
Experience with the MTSS process is desired as is knowledge of; Professional Learning Communities; best practices regarding student management protocols and progress monitoring. Knowledge of assessments and use of data to inform instruction. Evidence of integrating technology into the learning environment. Evidence of strong connection with students and families.
Deep knowledge of reading, writing and literacy development.
