As an Employment Services Specialist - Empowering Careers at the Greater Sacramento Urban League (GSUL), you will be pivotal in guiding individuals toward successful job placement and building impactful careers. Your responsibilities include assessing clients' needs, tailoring individualized employment plans, providing specialized training in resume writing and interviewing skills, and facilitating opportunities aligned with clients' career goals. In addition, you will streamline processes, track progress, engage in community outreach, and empower job seekers through monthly "Job Talks."
Your Impactful Responsibilities:

- Coaching Success: Assessing clients' needs, skills, and aspirations to guide them toward successful job placement.
- Tailoring Solutions: Collaborating on Individualized Employment Plans, offering training in resume writing and interviewing skills.
- Opening Doors: Identifying job opportunities aligned with clients' skills and career goals.
- Streamlining Processes: Assisting clients with employment applications, CalJobs registration, and navigating Unemployment benefits.
- Tracking Progress: Conducting pre-employment training and maintaining meticulous progress-tracking systems.
- Building Connections: Engaging in Case Review Team meetings, community outreach, job fairs, and events.
- Empowering Through Knowledge: Facilitating weekly "Job Talks," empowering job seekers through impactful workshops.
Qualifications We Value:

- A Bachelor's degree (preferred) in a related field or
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
- Experience working with diverse client backgrounds.
- A passion for GSUL's mission and understanding of social change dynamics.
- Teaching, presentation, or lecturing experience is a significant plus.
- A background in social work is a valuable asset.
