As a Financial Analyst at the Greater Sacramento Urban League, you will be an essential player in managing the financial health of our grant-funded programs. This role involves ensuring strict compliance with funder requirements and internal policies, making your attention to detail vital. Each day, you'll prepare and submit invoices to funders, track outstanding reimbursements, and guarantee timely processing of payments.
Your responsibilities will include reconciling bank and credit card statements, along with grant awards and expenditures, to uphold financial accuracy. You'll monitor spending, align expenditures with grant budgets, and conduct variance analyses to empower financial decision-making. Furthermore, you'll prepare and post journal entries, assist with month-end and year-end closings, generate insightful financial reports, and support program managers in understanding allowable expenses and budget allocations.
Collaborating closely with the Director of Finance and various program teams, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing financial planning and ensuring the fiscal integrity of GSUL's initiatives!

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years in financial analysis (preferably in the nonprofit or grant-funded sector)
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced QuickBooks Online and Excel skills for data management
- Financial modeling and reporting.
- Financial Analysis & Grant Management: Expertise in budgeting
