General Function
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Youth Development and Outreach, the ACE Coach leads and facilitates program activities and lesson plans directly with youth participants that achieve desired outcomes of the ACE program.
Principal Activities
The ACE Coach will ensure that the Princeton YMCA’s ACE Program establishes and maintains a level of excellence in areas of quality, consistency, and safety, and supports the goals and priorities of the Princeton YMCA. The ACE Coach will achieve the program goals and objectives by working to achieve healthy outcomes for participants and will provide a positive image of the YMCA within the community, in accordance with the mission and philosophy of the Princeton YMCA.
Hours And Compensation
$19.00 - $20.00/hr. | 15 hrs./week
These hours would consist of lunch visits to Princeton High School once a month, meetings with Youth Development Team, events outside of school, and bimonthly ACE dinners.

General Function
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Youth Development and Outreach, the ACE Coach leads and facilitates program activities and lesson plans directly with youth participants that achieve desired outcomes of the ACE program.
Principal Activities
- Working directly with youth, lead and deliver weekly ACE@SCHOOL In School sessions and Out-of-School Time (OST) ACE activities designed to promote healthier outcomes, including academic achievement, improved school and class attendance, increased positive cultural identity, increased sense of belonging, and strengthened social-emotional skills and self-confidence to be successful in life.
- Facilitate and help plan and develop appropriate activity-based curricula that includes but is not limited to: career exploration, team building activities, positive identity development and self-efficacy, strengthening self-determination skills, and character development activities.
- Facilitate ACE activities that engender social emotional development such as effective communication skills, conflict resolution skills, self-acceptance, positive decision-making skills, self-esteem and critical thinking.
- Support participants and encourage retention in program through personal relational outreach efforts such as: reminder calls, post-group check in, etc.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with Princeton Public Schools partners – guidance team, social workers, administration, and teachers.
- Meet weekly or as needed with YMCA Youth Development Team.
- Engage and build positive relationships with youth/teens in program appropriately, acting as a role model.
- Track attendance and provide data as required by Youth Development Director.
- Coordinate weekly lunches for sessions; assist with monthly ACE dinners and/or events.
- Create a safe, welcoming environment for youth/teens.
- Help with activity set-up and clean up; utilize youth as appropriate.
- Coordinate youth participation in field trips, workshops, and other enrichments.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Demonstrated experience working with middle and high school students
- Knowledge of student growth and development
- Ability to relate to students in a patient and caring way while demonstrating caring, honesty, respect and responsibility
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English and Spanish
- Ability to take and follow directions
- Ability to maintain systems for accurate record keeping
- Must be willing to work with all persons without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socioeconomic status or disability
- Ability to operate various types of office equipment such as copier, postage meter, and fax machine.
- Must be committed to the goals and objectives of the YMCA.
- Must be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with YMCA standards and best practices.
