Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Class Instruction: Plan and lead dynamic group workout sessions that combine weightlifting and cardio, tailored to meet the fitness levels of teens aged 13-18.
- Fitness Education: Teach proper weightlifting techniques, form, and safety measures to avoid injuries, and educate teens on the importance of cardiovascular health and physical fitness.
- Program Development: Design and implement workout routines that are engaging, age-appropriate, and progressively challenging to help teens improve their fitness levels.
- Motivation & Engagement: Encourage participants to push themselves safely during workouts, fostering a positive, energetic, and inclusive atmosphere.
- Safety & Supervision: Ensure that all teens follow gym safety protocols, including proper warm-ups, cool-downs, and equipment handling.
- Monitor Progress: Track the progress of participants and provide personalized feedback to help them achieve their fitness goals.
- Role Model: Serve as a positive role model, promoting discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
- Collaboration: Work with other staff members and program coordinators to integrate fitness education into broader youth development programs.
- Certification in Personal Training, Group Fitness, or a related field (e.g., NASM, ACE, ISSA).
- Previous experience working with teens in a fitness or sports setting.
- Strong knowledge of weightlifting techniques and cardiovascular exercises.
- CPR/AED certification required (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication and motivational skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire teens to participate in physical activity.
- Knowledge of youth development principles is a plus.
