What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 REGIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL(S) position at Greater Southern Tier BOCES?
Full-time position(s) (1.0 FTE), 8 hours per day, July 7, 2025, through August 22, 2025, with prep work involved immediately upon hire.
Responsible for the supervision of personnel and students
Responsible for assisting with hiring of all positions
Maintain compliance with Federal and State Education regulations
Responsible for student discipline within program
Responsible for public relations
Responsible for the implementation and grading of the August 2024 NY State Regents Exams
Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with teachers, students, district administrators, parents, and community agencies
Communicate with administrators, staff, and parents on a regular basis
Demonstrates effective leadership skills
Demonstrates knowledge of graduation requirements, testing requirements, curriculum, technology
Performs all other job duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Valid NYS Certification of School Administrator / Supervisor (SAS) or School Building Leader (SBL); or individual seeking an internship opportunity in an educational leadership program (must qualify for a Certificate of Internship)
Strong educational leadership in the areas of curriculum, program development and assessment
Demonstrated success in promoting student achievement
Decision-making skills and communication skills are significant to the job. Candidate must be knowledgeable of best practices in instruction and assessment. Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to function effectively as a team member and work collaboratively.
