What are the responsibilities and job description for the REGIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL COORDINATOR; GST BOCES CENTRAL REGION position at Greater Southern Tier BOCES?
Stipend position, July 7, 2025, through August 22, 2025, with prep work involved immediately upon hire.
- Responsible for the supervision of Regional Summer School Sites across the Greater Southern Tier Region
- Responsible for assisting with hiring of all positions
- Maintain compliance with Federal and State Education regulations
- Responsible for overseeing NY State August 2025 Regents Exams
- Responsible for the organization and implementation of NY State August 2025 Regents Exam scoring
- Responsible for the organization, oversight, and implementation of Drivers' Education at various sites
- Responsible for public relations
- Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with component school districts, principals, and teachers
- Communicate with administrators on a daily basis
- Demonstrates effective leadership skills
- Demonstrates knowledge of graduation requirements, testing requirements, curriculum, technology
- Performs all other job duties as assigned
START DATE: March/April. There will be preparatory work prior to the actual dates of the Summer School Session.
Job Qualifications
Valid NYS Certification of School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) or School Building Leader (SBL); or individual seeking an internship opportunity in an educational leadership program (must qualify for Certificate of Internship)
- Strong educational leadership in the areas of curriculum, program development and assessment
- Demonstrated success in promoting student achievement
- Decision-making skills and communication skills are significant to the job. Candidate must be knowledgeable of best practices in instruction and assessment. Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to function effectively as a team member and work collaboratively
