We are seeking a full-time, experienced retail pharmacist with packaging experience (preferred) to work primarily in our Columbia Falls located, but may be deployed to our Kalispell located when needed.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role: these duties are the essential functions and are not all-inclusive of all duties that the incumbent performs.
- Advise customers on the selection and usage of non-prescription medication
- Ask patients about other drugs they are taking or if they have existing medical conditions to prevent negative side effects
- Educate patients on the possible side effects of their medication and answer any questions they may have
- Maintain medication profiles of patients, including registering narcotics, and controlled drugs
- Compound pharmaceutical products when necessary, including calculating and measuring correct quantities of drugs and other ingredients to fulfill prescriptions
- Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies and medication
- Ensure pharmaceuticals, including vaccines, are properly packaged, distributed, prepared, and stored
- Supervise pharmacy technicians preparing and dispensing medications
Qualifications:
· BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
· Must have and maintain a current license from the Montana state board of pharmacy.
· At least one year of experience in a retail/clinic setting with some supervisory
responsibility.
