What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Maintenance Staff (AM or PM Shift) position at Greater Waterbury YMCA?
There are 2 positions/shifts available: Applicants MUST be able to work ONE of these shifts!
Camp Maintenance Opener (shift is 6:45am-12:45pm)
Camp Maintenance Closer (12:30pm-6:30pm)
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Have a positive approach to working with campers, staff and parents.
· Cannot begin work until all required paperwork is completed; including 2 forms of government issued ID. If under the age of 18; A Statement of Age (Working Papers) is needed.
· During Pre-Camp Training; complete of Child Abuse Prevention, Working with Program Volunteers, CPR, First Aid, AED, medication administration, EPI pen and Bloodborne Pathogens training.
· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors/gates after operating hours and ensuring that the camp facility is unoccupied.
2. Services, cleans and maintains supplies in restrooms, offices and all other areas of the YMCA facility.
3. Gathers and empty trash throughout camp.
4. Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them.
5. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage.
6. Mixes water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
7. Notifies managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
8. Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
9. Cleans windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges and squeegees.
10. Follows maintenance schedule as determined by the camp director and ACA guidelines.
11. Must have clean motor vehicle operator’s license and record as well as the ability to drive camp vehicles.
12. Participants in end of season clean-up
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
