What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp - Lead Wrangler position at Greater Wichita YMCA?
YMCA Camp Hyde is now hiring for Summer Camp 2021. Seeking a Lead Wrangler and 2-3 Wranglers to run our Frontier Camp. This specialty camp runs from June 1st to July 30th serves 48 students ages 7-12 weekly and is responsible for care of 30 horses. Camp session run Monday – Friday, some weekends for special events and camp rentals.
Lead Wrangler must be 21 and have experience with horses, teaching lessons and working with youth. This key leadership position oversees 3-4 staff and teens enrolled as Wranglers in Training program. Full time hours begin May 24th when the horses arrive. Season Position ends July 30th. Hourly rate between $11 and $15 depending on experience.
Wranglers must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma and a minimum 2 years’ experience with horses. Hourly rate $8.00 - $11.00 per hour. Seasonal position May 24th to July 30th. Typically Monday through Friday some weekends required.
