Grecian Delight | Kronos Foods Crop is seeking a Document Control Specialist for our Elk Grove Village, IL facility. As our Document Control Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of quality records to ensure compliance with USDA, FSMA, and customer requirements. You will also assist with HACCP compliance, maintenance of Quality Systems standards, and customer complaint management.

What you are going to be doing…

• Manage quality records to ensure compliance with USDA, Kronos, and customer requirements by monitoring daily Operations and Quality documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Assist in maintaining HACCP compliance by assisting in the verification of daily HACCP documentation and monitoring weekly and monthly validation requirements.
• Provide quality and food safety perspective to Customer Complaint process by assisting manufacturing plants with timely feedback and trending as required
• Help maintain vendor management process and records for raw materials including letters of guarantees and certificate of analysis by ensuring that records accuracy, out of spec deviations completed and follow up with suppliers for corrective actions are completed
• Follow up, review, coordinate, and record/ summarize all process deviations for Kronos
• Help perform Lot Trace ability Mock Recalls as required for finished product and ingredients. Complete evaluation of effectiveness and report findings and suggest improvements.
• Develop and maintain Quality System SOPs as assigned. Perform audit the facility, equipment, and ensure current SOPs are being used and enforced in production and warehouse.
• Assure daily compliance monitoring of: formulations, work procedures, traceability, HACCP/Regulatory, documentation, and customer requirements
• Participate in preparation for and attendance in 3rd party audits, including SQF
• Facilitate the HOLD process to provide synchronization with operations, shipping, and accounting to ensure adherence to HOLD procedure and the reconciliation process.
• Actively participate in the Correction Actions process for all of held product occurrences, customer complaints, foreign material investigations, environmental issues, etc. as necessary.
• May conduct employee inspections, contractor, pre-ops, and product evaluations as necessary
• Maintain department manuals, perform clerical and administrative duties as assigned

What you need to have…

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in food/biological science, public health, operations, management, or related discipline a plus.
• Proven background in document control process mandatory.
• 2 or more years of related food manufacturing experience preferably in a QA-Technical Services function.
• Knowledge of GMP’s and HACCP.
• Basic understanding of USDA and FDA regulations
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Spreadsheets and Trending
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus
