This is a First Shift position from 5:00am to 2:30pm.
As a Hangblast Operator, you will operate hangblast machine to clean and finish castings. Perform all tasks with safety and quality in mind and in accordance with established procedures and process instructions. Take necessary action to minimize delay time and maximize production. What You'll Do:
Exhibit superior safety practices every day evidenced by outstanding housekeeping at all times.
Extend treatment to all other employees of the company as individuals with the courtesy and dignity shown to customers.
Exceed customer quality and service expectations through attention to detail.
Exercise maximum care to protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating procedures.
Set up, load, and unload castings to ensure proper cleaning of castings.
Operate hangblast machine to remove adhering sand, scale, or oxidation from castings and to impart required surface finish.
Add shot, inspect shot screens, and clean as necessary.
Remove large gates and risers using a sledgehammer or rawhide mallet prior to blasting.
Sort castings and determine casting routing.
Perform visual casting inspection and use various measuring instruments and tools to inspect castings of various complexities, sizes and design, including sample castings. Notify the appropriate department supervisor of quality concerns as necessary.
Record and report necessary data on sample castings, scrap, certifications, rejections, shipment, defect analysis, and audits.
Operate fork truck as necessary to transport full or empty containers, materials, castings, and pallets. Pick up and deliver loads, weigh hoppers, and stack materials, as necessary.
Complete inventory tickets, weight records or routing forms as required.
