Grede St. Cloud is currently accepting applications for Summer Helpers. There are openings on all shifts. Position will be responsible for performing a variety of duties throughout the plant including but not limited to work in melt, mold line, and cleaning department.

What You'll Do:
Essential
Perform various support, relief, or general clean-up duties throughout the foundry as assigned.
Enter or record data on production logs or other data systems as required.
CLEAN ROOM

• Deliver or construct shipping containers and stage in appropriate location for grinding, processing, knock off or blast operations.
• Perform multiple cleaning room positions including salvage grind, stand grind, blast operation, knock off, fork truck, etc.
• Organize and maintain the Cleaning Room in an orderly and efficient manner.
• Perform minor repairs of cleaning room equipment.

MOLD LINES

• Service molding lines and ensure availability of supplies and tooling.
• Change patterns and core masks.
• Complete audit and inspect tooling before and after production run.
• Inspect pattern and write work order if defect found.
• Return patterns and core masks to storage.
• Clean and tag as required.
• Operate molding machine and set cores as required.

MELT

• Coordinate melt functions including charging, melting, refractory repair, deslagging, furnace reline and converter truck operation.
• Ensure availability of required raw materials and supplies.
• Interact with maintenance, technical and molding personnel to minimize downtime for mechanical, metallurgical or molding related issues.
• Ensure that proper safety and quality practices are observed by department personnel.
• Provide input to supervisor about the performance of melt personnel.
• Assist with ordering raw materials and supplies.
• Collect and record pertinent data and enter in appropriate file or database.
• Notify supervisor and other departments, as necessary, of quality, mechanical, delay or personnel problems and take corrective action within scope of responsibility.

All positions require preplacement drug screen, background check, physical, and physical demands analysis.

What We Need from You:

• Job may require decimals and fractions, drawings and formulas, measuring instruments and a variety of hand tools.
• Ability to lift at least 20 pounds consistently.
• Some judgment to stay in sync with instructions, follow methods, make minor decisions.
